Azienda Agricola Podere Panolfo is located in Umbria in the municipality of Montecchio (TR) recently named as among "The most beautiful villages in Italy". The property lays over the marvelous hilly area of Orvieto covered with olive groves and vines, overlooking Lake Corbara on one side and the Tiber Valley on the other. And it is about 25 km far from the wonderful city of Orvieto and 30 km from the similar beautiful city of Todi.
The lands extend for about 40 hectares, historically called Podere Panolfo. The destination of the land is arable, arboreal plants with walnuts, ash and cherry trees and about six hectares of specialized olive grove. In the estate stands the farmhouse built in the early 1800s that until the 70s hosted the families of the sharecroppers who took care of the land for account of the lord of the area.
It was one of the first farms in the area of Orvieto hills to plant at beginning of 70s, a specialized olive grove. Today it counts about 2600 plants of different cultivars (Moraiolo, Leccino and Pendolino) to produce high quality Extra Virgin Olive certified organic and Protected Designation of Origin Umbria Colli Orvietani. These certifications not only have the meaning to assure the best possible quality for our products to our customers but reflect the spirit of the farm owner to act with the maximum level of sustainability in the extend meaning.
