In search of excellence: this is the spirit in which Arnould and Isabelle Lefébure - de Clerck, Franco-Belgians, owners of Château de Viviers, in Burgundy near Chablis, took over this renowned estate. Created by Benedictine and then Cistercian monks in the 12th century, it quickly became popular and found itself at the table of the kings of France. It is thus served at the weddings of Louis XIV and Louis XV.
Passionate about nature, the entire estate has naturally gone organic and biodynamic to protect the flora and fauna around the 35-year-old vines. In 2020, they get the 'land and wings' label for the number of bird species recorded. Quality is the key word and the 1st vintage, 2020, very reduced (13hl / ha instead of 60 authorized) includes 3 cuvées including a collector of 100 magnums with a label created by the international singer-artist CharlElie Couture.
Arnould, marine biologist, headed for 25 years in Antwerp, an international institute of on water and created with Yann Arthus Bertrand Goodplanet Belgium. He thus passes from water to wine, finding through the many fossils at Viviers, a little of the sea he left behind. Isabelle, for her part, interior architect and designer, born in Kortrijk, spent 10 years in Lebanon, and develops the French art de vivre at the château with luxury guest rooms. She creates porcelains, tailor-made textiles, inspired by warm Mediterranean colors and her time at Flamant.
