In the heart of the Périgord Noir, the Domaine de Vielcroze perpetuates the know-how of walnut oil and truffles, emblems of our Périgord terroir. The Domaine de Vielcroze is housed in the old farmhouse of a farm at a place called "Vielcroze" in Castelnaud-la-Chapelle in the Dordogne. It is located in the heart of a seven hectare walnut grove. In 1998, the company launched into the production of virgin walnut oil with a traditional mill called Vielcroze, to show the quality of its products, it is the flagship of the company, a product from the land of Périgord , ancestral know-how that today's miller reproduces to perfection. A year later, she obtained organic certification on her orchard, which brings added value to this product.
In 2012, it bought the Huilerie d'Aiguevive to acquire the production equipment, i.e. a modern press, at its site in Castelnaud.
Since 2012, the company has therefore been able to produce two different types of virgin oil on the estate. Since 2017, the company has decided to have organic virgin walnut oil from the Vielcroze mill compete in the Paris general agricultural competition, winning several medals, including 3 gold and 2 silver.
In 2019 the Domaine is recognized by the Culinary College of France. Finally, in 2021, the Domaine will be awarded the Prix d'Excellence du Concours Général Agricole which rewards the quality work provided for several years.
Our objective is to make known the ancestral know-how of Périgord, to respect the knowledge of our ancestors. We are also aware of new techniques, we have to follow developments, find a certain balance.
