From the little town of Ortona in the province of Chieti, the Menicucci family have a long standing history of growing, harvesting, crushing and bottling 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil.
The altitude, the exceptional soil features and the subtropical climate of Abruzzo all help create that special micro-climate that influence the ideal development of the fruit, making it possible for very high-quality oil to be produced.
Alula extra virgin olive oil is mainly harvested by hand to ensure product integrity. With a focus on excellence and innovation, the olive aroma is fresh and fruity with a slightly bitter flavour.
Within 24 hours from harvesting, the olives are washed and the leaves are removed. The pressing, extraction and filtering stages are done using procedures that are able to maintain all the biological and aromatic properties of the fresh fruit.
