The family history goes back to the 13th century. In 1685 our Huguenot ancestors settled in the South Palatinate. From 1980 the estate gradually moved towards environmentally friendly and then on to organic viniculture. In 2000 Manfred Hermann Lind was warded the honorary title “Ökonomierat” for his outstanding services to the wine-growing industry. Since 2019 master winemaker Rüdiger Lind and daughter Elena (winemaker, B. Sc.) have been running the winery.
Our wine-growing estate is situated in the southern tip of the wine-growing area of the South Palatinate. Bordering on Alsace, this is regarded as one of the most innovative wine regions in Germany.
All our vineyards are part of the single location “Mandelpfad” (almond path).
As ecological wine-growers we treat Mother Nature responsibly. The preservation of the soil and the cultivation of rich animal and plant life (biodiversity) are at the center of long-lasting wine-growing that produces natural results. By planting herbs and leguminous plants we encourage biodiversity and maintain an all round intact ecosystem. We enjoy our daily work in our natural environment, supporting the ecology. For years we have been a member of EcoVin (Federal Association of Ecological Wine-Growers).
Our wine-cellar is the “nursery” of our wines. By gentle nurturing we allow our wines to develop their own character. Natural purification and doing without special treatment vouch for long enjoyment and pleasure without remorse. Healthy grapes are developed by the special “Sur-Lie” method. They lie in the fine yeast until bottling and so assimilate more minerals, fruity fragrance and bio-active substances. Through the long “mother-child” contact and a biological acidity reduction we are able to offer you exceptionally well-balanced wines.
